A large public services company has a new requirement for an iSeries / JDE Programmer at their Luray, VA. location. This role reviews, analyzes, designs, modifies, tests, installs, and documents application programming changes for JDE on the AS/400. Performs project life cycle process. Audits application security, object control and assists with setting up security.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and maintain data files, structures, reports and libraries on the AS/400 (iSeries) system related to JDE. Assist with monitoring system configuration.

Review, analyze, modify, design and support JDE including encoding, testing, debugging, and promoting fixes on new and existing programs.

Develop program specifications, diagrams, flowcharts and documentation on assigned projects.

Monitors and restores application systems security based on audits performed. Backup for security officer when necessary.

Perform new installs, software releases, system upgrades and troubleshooting of JDE.

Train technical staff on hardware, programming standards, system set up and software configurations.

Design and code interface processing and API programming to multiple platforms such as SQL Servers, Access Databases, etc.

Responsible for following, supporting, and enforcing all internal control processes and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

5+ years programming on JDEWorld.

Experience with upgrades to JDE (specifically JDE World 9.1) is desired.

An understanding of how JDE interfaces to other applications, such as billing systems and the GL feeds associated with those applications.

Experience with some of the following skill sets preferred: RPG, RPGLE, SQL/400, API’s, Triggers, SQL/400, Websphere, WAS 6.0, embedded SQL in RPGLE, Data queues, Message queues, TCP/IP connectivity, FTP, Client Access Express, Ops Navigator, iSeries hardware and configuration setups.

B.S. degree with concentration on programming or equivalent work experience.
